On Tuesday afternoon, Engine 824 and units from Company 47 were dispatched for an MVA on Indian Head Highway involving a county police officer. Squad and Ambulance 847 were the first to arrive and began patient care. As Engine 824 arrived, the crew assisted with carring for the patients until a second ambulance could arrive. At the same time, the paramedics determined that the county police officer needed to be medevaced so the engine crew set-up the landing zone on the highway. Trooper 2 arrived and flew the officer to a local trauma center. The members of the Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department wish the officer a speedy recovery.
